Full State Honours during the funeral of Organ Donors
To promote and encourage voluntary Organ Donation in the State, an annual award namely "SURAJ AWARD" was instituted by Health & Family Welfare Department in the memory of Late Suraj Behera, whose parents voluntarily donated the organs of their brain-dead son to save lives of other people.
The organ donors' families are also being given a cash award of Rs 5.00 Lakh each from CMRF, and the families of organ donors from the State are being felicitated every year on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day (13th August).
In addition to the above, Odisha Government is pleased to decide that the last rites of organ donors of Heart, Kidneys, Liver, Pancreas, Lungs and Intestines will be conducted with full State Honours during the funeral.

Revised rate of minimum wages for unskilled / skilled employees
Labour Commissioner, Odisha has decided to pay Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) @ Rs.7.00 per day to the unskilled and skilled employees of 89 scheduled employments w.e.f. 01.10.2023.
Accordingly, the revised rate of minimum wages including VDA will be as follows;
Unskilled : Rs.352, Semiskilled : Rs.392, Skilled : Rs.442, Highly Skilled : Rs.502_page-0001.jpg)

Abolition of 35 Toll Gates operated by OB&CC Ltd.
With a view to provide hassle free movement of vehicles and avoid traffic congestion on roads across the State Government in Works Department has been pleased to abolish all the 35 nos of toll gates on Works and RD Department roads operated by OB&CC Ltd.
