2 Lakh blog visitors.. Thank you, one & all

Today our blog’s page view reached two lakhs. Time flies pretty fast.  These three years have been very incredible and a great learning experience for me since it's start from 31.01.2017.
Being updated is more necessary for all in this current situation. www.worksodisha.blogdpot.com has now grown into something that I could have only dreamed of. On this special day, I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing me to share something with you all.
On this special occasion – ‘2 Lakh page view, I would like to thank all my blog readers, family members, well-wishers, friends, mentors & friends on Social Media for your continuous encouragement, motivation, trust, constructive criticism and support!

3rd year Journey

In my 3rd year of Blogging too, I have adhered to my Blog’s aims and objectives which are
  • To value my blog reader’s time.
  • To write unbiased views on OSS Cadre and our service Association OSSA
  • To try to respond to each and every genuine query / comment received through email or WhatsApp.
From day one, I have always believed in posting  information useful to OSS Cadre Officers and that to very specific on Secretariat and OSSA.
During the last 12 months, I have consciously tried to cover all news with photos happening in Secretariat. On an average, I generally spend 2 to 3 hours per day to collect and post useful information.

Pageviewers:
As this blog is specifically OSS Cadre related, most visitors are from Secretariat. Hence pageview is  not increasing fast. But I was so happy when it was 26578 in July, 2019 because of regular updates on ASO Examination. Then I thought, somehow my effort is being fruitful for some ASO aspirants. Till now 1598 posts have been published and 41 pages created with specific subjects.

To be frank with you, as of now I do not have any major plans lined up for the next few months or so. But, all I can promise is that I will ‘keep learning’, ‘adhere to my ethics’ and ‘provide unbiased content’ to my blog readers.
I believe that bloggers are in a sweet-spot, as more and more users are searching for information. For this our blog has jumped nearly 50000 in Alexa Rank in last 90 days.
Request you to kindly share your feedback, criticism, comments….Thank you for your time and support! Cheers!

DA and DR Table in 5th, 6th and 7th pay commission

DA RATES TABLE

What is DA and DR?

Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) both are the same. Dearness allowance and Dearness relief are being granted to existing employees and retired employees respectively. Dearness allowance is calculated on the basis of current basic pay of Government employees and the dearness relief is calculated on the basis of basic pension of Government pensioners. DA/DR is normally declared twice a year for compensating the price hike of essential commodities. DA/DR is indicating a particular percentage fixed by the Central Government. The calculation of DA/DR is based on CPI (IW) as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission.

How to calculate DA?

Dearness allowance (DA) is calculated on the percentage fixed by the Central Government from time to time as per the calculation method prescribed by the pay commission.

DA Calculation Formula

The formula for calculating DA is given below and the method of calculation is common for 5th CPC DA, 6th CPC DA and 7th CPC DA. The linking factor is given below for calculating the percentage of DA. The linking factor is nothing but the average of 12 months of All India Consumer Price Index number from Jan 2015 to Dec 2015.
Percentage of Dearness Allowance = (Average of AICPIN for the past 12 months – Fitment Linking Factor) x 100 / Fitment Linking Factor

  • 5th CPC Fitment Linking Factor for DA Calculation = 306.33
  • 6th CPC Fitment Linking Factor for DA Calculation = 115.76
  • 7th CPC Fitment Linking Factor for DA Calculation = 261.4
7th Pay Commission DA Percentage = (Average of AICPI for the past 12 months – 261.4) x 100 / 261.4
  • Current Rate of DA is 17%
