Examination of 9th batch ASO Trainees starts today


9th Batch Induction Training program of newly recruited Assistant Section Officers (RR-2019) is going on at Odisha Secretariat Training Institute, Bhubaneswar from 19th January, 2024.

Now the training is going to be concluded this month. The Examination of this Batch starts today and it will continue till 9th May, 2024.

53 ASOs of 8th Batch Passed Out Induction Training at OSTI

8th Batch Training of ASOs
(31.08.2023 to 29.12.2023)

Total 53 Nos. of Assistant Section Officers completed their training successfully at Odisha Secretariat Training Institute (OSTI) presently functioning at Toshali Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. All have passed out the Examination conducted from 13.12.2023 to 16.12.2023. Besides, during this training period, a study tour had been organised to Koraput District also. (Relieve Order)

Closing day of Induction Training of 62 Assistant Director (Law) of Odisha Secretariat

Newly recruited 62 Assistant Directors (Law) have successfully completed their Induction Training held from 17.08.2023 to 24.08.2023 at Conference Hall, near RD Department, Lokaseva Bhawan. The said training was conducted by Odisha Secretariat Training Institute (OSTI).

Study Tour of 6th Batch ASO trainees

The 6th Batch ASO trainees of Odisha Secretariat are now under 3-days study tour to Balasore & Bhadrak District during 22-24 March, 2023. A total 42 nos. of ASOs are there in the tour under guidance of Sri Manoj Kumar Sarangi, Under Secretary and Sri Tarun Kumar Biswal, Under Secretary of the Training Institute. 

On the first day, they visited (1) Akhandalmani Temple (2) Dhamra Port and (3) Basudevpur Block Office. 

On the second day, they visited (1) Emami Paper Mill , Jagannath Temple (2) Collectorate, Balasore and (3) Utkal Balashram. 

On the last day of tour, the trainees will visit the Integrated Test Range, DRDO, Chandipur to experience the defence establishment and then return to Bhubaneswar.

5th Batch Induction Training of ASOs completed; Next Batch from Dec 26

The 5th Batch induction training of newly recruited ASOs has been completed on 16th December, 2022. Total 40 ASOs have joined their respective departments after this training from Odisha Secretariat Training Institute (OSTI) functioning at Toshali Bhawan. (Download Relieve Order. PDF) 

The next batch (6th) is scheduled to be commenced from 26th December,  2023. A list of 50 ASOs has been prepared by Home Department for the forthcoming batch. (Download 6th Batch ASO List. PDF)

3rd Batch Induction Training for newly recruited ASOs

The 3rd Batch Induction Training for newly recruited ASOs ( OPSC 2018) has been started from 09.12.2021. It will continue for 12 weeks. As the renovation work of own building is under process, hence Odisha Secretariat Training Institute (OSTI) is now functioning in 5th floor of Toshali Bhawan temporarily. Earlier, the 3rd batch was scheduled to be held from 06.04.2020. But the same was postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak in March, 2020. This time, only 40 trainees are allowed to participate so as to maintain social distance in the classroom. On the first day, 23 ASOs have joined induction program.

Amendment in Training policy of ASOs in Central Secretariat Service (CSS)

As per the approval, the existing 12 weeks’ Foundation Training Programme for Assistant Section Officers (Probationers) has been re-designed into 108 weeks training programme. However, out of the 108 weeks, class room/full time engagement will only be for 16 weeks.
