Tata Steel Marathon
Second Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Half Marathon
January 14, 2018
Tata Steel, in association with Sports and Youth Services Department,
Government of Odisha, will be organizing Tata Steel Bhubaneswar Half Marathon -
2017 on January 14, 2018.
Commemorating the National Youth Sports Day, this
annual professional half marathon is being organised for the second year in a
row.
Distance = 21.1km
Starting from Kalinga stadium --> towards Khandagiri Square --> return to end at Kalinga Stadium.
10km run
for institutions, colleges and corporate houses
5km run for school students
(up to 12th standard)
Reporting time = 5:30am
State-of-the-art technology consisting of timing mats and its control
units, radio frequency identification (RFID) chips, split timing mats on route,
tracking camera, wi-fi network on route as per international standard will be
used to ensure a world standard conduct of the marathon.
Following will be the prize money for different events in each category,
men and women.

marathon.

Physical registration from 10:00am - 6:00pm, starting from 06.12.2016 at Kalinga Stadium

Registration fees :
for half
marathon = Rs.300
for 10km runs = Rs.200
for 5km runs = Rs.100
The goodies bag can be collected between January 4 and 6, 2017, from the designated counter at Kalinga Stadium.

Rashtrapati Bhavan will be open for public viewing
for four days a week from tomorrow

Rashtrapati Bhavan will now be open for public viewing for four days in a week - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - from tomorrow (November 23, 2017) between 0900 hrs. to 1600 hrs. except on Gazetted Holidays.
Entry and exit for visitors will be through Gate No. 2 (Rajpath); Gate No. 37 (Hukmi Mai Marg); and Gate No. 38 (Church Road) of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Visits can be booked on-line at the website http://rashtrapatisachivalaya.gov.in/rbtour. There are nominal registration charges of Rs. 50/- per head (Children below the age of 8 years will be exempt from these charges). Indian citizens are required to carry any valid photo ID Cards while foreign citizens are required to carry their original passport at the time of visit.

Odisha Men's World Hockey League - 2017

Event Brief:
Seven teams who qualified through the Hockey World League Semi-Finals plus hosts India will go head-to-head to be crowned champions of the third season of the coveted league, which started back in April 2016. Pool-A teams comprise of Olympic Champions Argentina, European champions Netherlands, Olympic silver medalists Belgium and Spain.
Reigning World Cup and World League Champions Australia will begin their title defence in Pool-B as they take on Germany, England and hosts India. This hockey extravaganza is set to send sports fan's pulses racing with a number of hugely exciting matches scheduled for the event taking place at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar from December 1-10, 2017.
In addition to battling for the title, vital FIH Hero World Ranking points will also be on offer which could prove crucial in terms of qualification for future events.
