ASO Recruitment Court Case : HC rejects review & writ petitions

Orissa High Court rejects review petition (RVWPET 257/2023 ) and writ petition (WP(C) No. 19402/2023 ) filed in connection with alleged selection procedure adopted in Assistant Section Officer (ASO) recruitment exam conducted by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
Further, court upholds its earlier order directing OPSC for publication of fresh merit list.

Inauguration of Virtual High Courts in 10 districts

Hon'ble Chief Justice of India Dr. D. Y. Chandrachud, today inaugurated Virtual High Courts in 10 districts of Odisha namely Sambalpur, Berhampur (Ganjam), Bhadrak, Bhawanipatna (Kalahandi), Bhubaneswar (Khurdha), Bolangir, Jeypore (Koraput), Puri and Rourkela (Sundargarh).



These Virtual High Courts will have video conf facilities and a ‘Back Office’ by which lawyers can e-file their cases with assistance from staff/officer. Advocates or persons not familiar with computers can take help of the back office.

These Virtual High Courts established in 10 out of the 30 Districts in the first phase. The choice of the first 10 virtual High Courts was dictated by the geographical location and the volume of cases filed from the Districts in the High Court.

High Court ASO 2nd round Exam : Objective or Subjective??

Question analysis : High Court ASO 2021 Preliminary Examination

Recently, preliminary examination for High Court ASO 2021 has been conducted on 06.10.2021.

There was 150 questions in total 4 sections namely;

1) Section-I : General English - 40

2) Section-II : General Knowledge - 40

3) Section-III : Logical Reasoning - 35

4) Section-IV : Quantitative Aptitude - 35

The qualifying marks for this exam is kept 30% for SC/ST candidates whereas 40% for others. That means, 45 marks for SC/ST & 60 marks for others. But the expected average score is 70 - 95 because the negative marking was @0.5 for each wrong response.

"Seeing the immense potential of India, the Department of Tourism was formed to promote international and domestic tourism in the country. In addition, the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, the National Council for Hotel. To promote tourism at the state level, each state and union territory has its own department of tourism.
