Productivity Linked Bonus to Postal Employees for 2022-23


ଡାକ କର୍ମଚାରୀ ପାଇବେ ୬୦ ଦିନର ବୋନସ 

Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent of emoluments of 60 Days will be paid to the MTS / Group-C / Non-Gazetted Group-B employees of Department of Posts for the Accounting Year 2022-23.

Department of Posts Adopts Biometric Attendance Systems

The Department of Posts in India has directed all its operative offices, including post offices, mail offices, PSDs, and MMS units, to shift to Aadhar linked biometric attendance by 30th May, 2023.

Productivity Linked Bonus Calculation

Government of India declares Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for Group-C and Group-B (Non-Gazetted) employees every year. This year also the same has been declared at the rate of 60 days & 78 days for Postal Employees & Railway employees respectively.

BPM/ABPM/GDS : Job, salary , promotion

Recently, Notification has been issued by Department of Posts, India for 2060 GDS posts in Odisha Circle. NOTIFICATION
Before applying for this job, here is something in brief about the job, salary and promotion. 
Branch Post Offices (B.O.) are non-Departmental offices under one Sub-Post Office (S.O.). 

Entire GDS posts brought under two categories. 
1) Branch Postmasters (BPMs) 
2) Other than Branch Postmasters
      a) Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM) 
           (If working in Branch Post Offices) 
      b) Dak Sevaks
           ( If working in Departmental Offices) 

Working Hours :
a) 4 Hours    and     b) 5 hours

Basic Salary

Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) Matrix

Annual Increase : 
3% of basic salary increases each year. 
As per the TRCA slab, each year one stage goes down in each level of the matrix. 

Dearness Allowance :
As per recommendations of 7CPC

Other allowances : (as per table) 

Productivity Linked Bonus:
Present calculation of ex-gratia bonus by applying the calculation ceiling of ₹7000/- as basic TRCA + DA shall continue until further orders. 

Deduction :
Group Insurance (GIS)= 50
Union Subscription = 20

Promotion (through Dept exam) 

Minimum Service Required for all  Promotion Exams..
BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak to MTS Exam - 3 Yrs
BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak to  Postman Exam - 5 Yrs
BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak to  Postal Assistant Exam - 5 Yrs

Leave
Yearly 20 Days with Salary Leave
Maternity Leave for Ladies - 6 Month with Salary Leave

Instant Money Order (iMO) service discontinued in India Post

Instant Money Order (iMO) Service of Department of Posts, which was introduced on 20th January, 2006 has been discontinued w.e.f 14.07.2020.



What is iMO? 
iMO is an instant web based money transfer service through Post Offices (iMO Centre) in India between two resident individuals in Indian territory.
You can transfer money from INR 1,000/- to INR 50,000/- from designated iMO Post Offices.

iMO Booking Procedure

Fill up the “To Remit Payment” (TRP-1) form and submit it with money at iMO Post Office Counter.
iMO Counter clerk after booking the iMO immediately will give a printed receipt with computer generated confidential 16 digit iMO number in a sealed condition. Even the 16 digit iMO number will not be known to booking clerk.
Customer is required to tear off the seal and convey the confidential 16 digit iMO number to the receiver over phone, SMS, e-mail, etc. at his means and risk.

iMO Delivery Procedure

Receiver to present the 16 digit iMO number at any designated iMO post office counter and will fill up and submit a “To Make Payment” (TMP-1) form along with a copy of his personal identity proof.
Receiver can receive the payment in cash up to INR 50,000. He can also receive the payment through his post office savings bank account in the same iMO office.

N.B. It is to mention here that the100 years traditional Money Order Service has been closed w.e.f 1st April, 2015. Now only the eMO service will continue to send/receive money to/from near & dear ones.

Extension of premium payment period for PLI & RPLI till 30th June

Extension of premium payment period for Postal Life Insurance & Rural Postal Life Insurance till 30th June 2020

In view of the threat posed by the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), and the complete lockdown across India, Central/State Governments have issued several advisories and imposed restrictions on the movement of general public. Postal Life Insurance/Rural Postal Life Insurance customers are facing difficulty in approaching post offices for payment of premia inspite of the fact that many Post Offices are functional as part of essential services.
As a measure of convenience to all the PLI / RPLI customers, Directorate of Postal Life Insurance, Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications has given an extension of period for payment of their due premium of March 2020, April 2020 & May 2020 upto 30th June 2020 without charging any penalty/default fee. The decision has been taken because The Department has advised Customers registered on portal to pay premium online using PLI customer Portal.

New postal division of Rourkela created

Addressed by Santosh Kumar Kamila, Chief Post Master  General, Odisha Circle, at PMG.
“A newly created Raygada Postal Division has been functional since April 1 after a long gap of 30 years in Odisha circle. Besides another new Postal division of Rourkela will start functioning soon. With these new postal divisions, the people of Southern Odisha and Western Odisha can avail better facilities.”
