Nominated as
a member of the Executive Committee of Gujarat High Court Advocates'
Association in 1983 and elected as Joint Secretary in 1984 of the Gujarat High
Court Advocates' Association. Was Secretary of Gujarat High Court Silver
Jubilee Celebration, celebrated in 1984. Elected as Honorary Secretary of
Gujarat High Court Advocates' Association for three years 1988 to 1990.
Was
Hon. Secretary of Gujarat High Court Advocates' Law Library since August, 1999
and established Reference Library till 06.03.2004.Was Advocate on the panel of
various prestigious institutions like GSRTC, AMC, FCI and for State of Gujarat
for Arbitration matter before the Gujarat Public Contracts Arbitration
Tribunal.
Was
President of Scout in 1972. Held prestigious position in Bharat Scouts and
Guides and was active member from 1981 to 1997. Was Hon’ble Secretary B.S.G.
from 1990 to 1996. Awarded the highest award of Silver Elephant in 1996-97. Was
nominated as State Commissioner, Scout in the year 2002 and held such office
till February, 2004. Was member of Finance Committee & Executive Committee
N.H.Q. B.S.G., New Delhi.
Grand Father Shri Kalidas Jaskaran Jhaveri was Freedom
Fighter closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. Father Shri
Satyendra Kalidas Jhaveri was Advocate and first elected Chairman of Gujarat
Bar Council.
Elevated as Judge of Gujarat High Court on 7th March,
2004 and confirmed as permanent Judge on 22.06.2005.
Was acting as Chairman of the I.T. Committee.
Was Chairman of the Gujarat High Court Legal Aid
Committee and also was President of the Gujarat State Judicial Academy.
Transferred to Rajasthan High Court on 24.08.2016 and
remained Executive Chairman of RSLSA from 18.10.2016.
Elevated and sworn in as the Chief Justice of Orissa High
Court on 12th August, 2018.

Mo School : Contribution by Old Students
Unit-IX Boys High School Bhubaneswar Alumni Association called on Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. Represented by alumni Shri Bibhu Prasad Acharya, Special Chief Secretary (Telangana), former cricketer Debasish Mohanty and architect Tara Prasad Dhal, they donated ₹10 lakh towards Mo School and praised the initiative for creating a platform for alumni to partner the development of their alma mater. State Government will donate the double of the donation to the Mo School initiative i.e.₹20 lakh. The fund of ₹30 lakh will be utilized for special training, skill development, libraries, laboratories and various other infrastructure needs of the school.

President nominates four members to Rajya Sabha

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 80 of the Constitution of India, and on the advice of the Prime Minister, the President of India is pleased to make the following four nominations to the Rajya Sabha:
Shri Ram Shakal: He is an eminent people’s leader and public representative from Uttar Pradesh, who has devoted his life for the welfare and well-being of the Dalit community. A farmer leader, he is widely respected for championing the cause of farmers, labourers and migrants. He has also been a three-time Member of Parliament, representing Robertsganj constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Rakesh Sinha: A respected and widely read author, Shri Rakesh Sinha is the Founder and Honorary Director of the Delhi-based think-tank “India Policy Foundation.” A Professor of Motilal Nehu College of Delhi University, he is also currently a member of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He is a regular columnist in a range of newspapers.
Shri Raghunath Mohapatra: He is an internationally renowned authority on stone carving. Practicing since 1959, he has trained over 2000 students. He has contributed to the preservation of traditional sculpture and ancient monuments, and has worked on the beautification of the Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri. His famous works include a 6 feet high statue of the Sun God carved in grey sandstone, in the Central Hall of Parliament; and the Wooden Buddha, Buddha Temple, Paris.
Smt Sonal Mansingh: She is among India’s foremost exponents of Indian Classical Dance. She has been performing Bharatnatyam and Odissi for over six decades. She is also a well-known choreographer, teacher, orator and social activist. She founded the Centre for Indian Classical Dances, in Delhi in 1977.
Background
Article 80(1)(a) read with Article 80(3) of the Constitution of India provides that the President can nominate to Rajya Sabha, 12 persons having special knowledge, or practical experience in respect of literature, science, art and social service. There were, currently, eight nominated members in the Rajya Sabha, and hence, four vacancies.
