OLA to operate in Twin City
The Transport Commissioner, in an order, said that Ola will provide 100 cabs in the twin cities for the emergency mobility services to the public including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff during the lockdown period.
1. These 100 cabs are to be pre-registered with Transport Commissioner and the later may issue special pass for these vehicles
3. Only one patient and one attendant is allowed.
4. Ola cab will send list of passengers (name, address, mobile no.) daily to RTO
5. RTO will check if there is any violation.
Regularisation of absence period of railway employees due to lockdown
A) Officers’staff who could not assume duty afer completion of sanctioned leave period, duc to suspension of Train’ Road Communication during the lockdown period, their over-stay is to be treated as Special Casual Leave. Similarly,in case of staff who were on HQ Leave permission as on 25.03.2020, their absence from IIQ during lockdown period may be treated as Special Casual Leave.
B) Staff who proceeded on duty prior ta 25.3.2020 bur could not return to their respective HQs, due to suspension of Train’Road communication during the lockdown period, such forced halts period to be treated as on-duty.
2. Officer’Staff who arc above 50 years of age and having underlying conditions i.e. Diabetes, Respiratory problem, Renal Diseases and other life-threatening illness may be granted Commuted leave without insisting on RMC for a period up to 4th April vide Railway Board’s Lr.No. E(P&ADI-2020 /CPC/LE-3 dated 23.03.2020.

Extension of premium payment period for Postal Life Insurance & Rural Postal Life Insurance till 30th June 2020

In view of the threat posed by the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), and the complete lockdown across India, Central/State Governments have issued several advisories and imposed restrictions on the movement of general public. Postal Life Insurance/Rural Postal Life Insurance customers are facing difficulty in approaching post offices for payment of premia inspite of the fact that many Post Offices are functional as part of essential services.
As a measure of convenience to all the PLI / RPLI customers, Directorate of Postal Life Insurance, Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications has given an extension of period for payment of their due premium of March 2020, April 2020 & May 2020 upto 30th June 2020 without charging any penalty/default fee. The decision has been taken because The Department has advised Customers registered on portal to pay premium online using PLI customer Portal.

Government approves ex-gratia compensation for more than one lakh FCI employees in case of death due to COVID-19

The Government has approved the proposal for grant of ex-gratia monetary compensation to 1,08,714 workers and officers of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) including 80,000 labour who are working 24x7 to supply food grains across the country amidst the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
Presently, families of FCI employees are entitled to compensation in the event of death due to terrorist attack, bomb blast, mob attack or natural disaster, but the Regular and Contractual Labour of FCI are not covered under its provisions. Keeping this in view, the Government has decided to provide ex-gratia monetary compensation to all employees and labour of FCI who are working tirelessly despite the threat of infection due to Coronavirus COVID-19.
Under its provisions, during the six month period from March 24, 2020 to 23 September, 2020 if anybody dies due to COVID-19 infection while on duty with FCI, the Regular FCI Labour will get an ex-gratia of Rupees 15 lakh, Contractual Labour will be entitled to Rs.10 lakh, Category-1 Officers Rs.35 lakh, Category-2 – Rs.30 lakh and Category -3 & -4 workers – Rs.25 lakh.
Announcing this, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan said the Government is committed to provide all possible security to our Corona-warriors engaged in providing essentials and services to the common man during these times of crisis.
