Name change of places in Odisha : Public Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE 
(Change of Name of Places) 

Notice is hereby given for general information of the public that the Government of Odisha proposes to effect changes in the names of certain places within the State of Odisha, with a view to restoring their original Odia names and ensuring correct reflection of the State's linguistic, historical, and cultural heritage in official records. Details of the places proposed for renaming are enclosed in the Annexure appended to this notice. All stakeholders likely to be affected by the proposed changes are hereby invited to submit their objections or suggestions, if any, in writing, along with supporting documents, to the undersigned within 15 days from the date of publication of this Public Notice. Objections or suggestions received after the stipulated period shall not be entertained. In case no objection is received within the prescribed time, it shall be presumed that there is no objection from the public, and the Government may proceed further in the matter as Der law.

Govt announces creation of four new tahasils

The Government of Odisha has taken a significant step toward improving administrative efficiency by announcing the creation of four new Tahasils to address the immense service delivery challenges in three of the state’s largest urban centres

Keeping these factors in view, the Government decided on the following bifurcations:

* Bhubaneswar Tahasil: Will be divided to create two new additional Tahasils.

* Cuttack Tahasil: Will be bifurcated to create one new additional Tahasil.

* Sambalpur Tahasil: Will be bifurcated to create one new additional Tahasil

Important Govt Decision On Creation Of Land Bank For Compensatory Afforestation Purpose. 'Compensatory Afforestation Land Bank' shall be created in each district of the State by including degraded revenue forest lands only. This will be used for projects undertaken by GoI or State Govt requiring land for Compensatory Afforestation.
