How to vote

You can vote only if your name appears in the Voter List (also known as
Electoral Roll).
Voting
Process at Polling Booth
- First Polling Officer will check your name on the voter list and check your ID proof
- Second Polling Officer will ink your finger, and take your signature on a register (Form 17A)
- You will have to Collect two slips (1.White slip for MP 2.Pink slip for MLA) at the Third Polling Officer after showing your inked finger.
- Deposit the White Slip to 4th Polling Officer and then proceed to the polling booth compartment meant for MP.
- Record your vote by pressing the ballot button opposite the symbol of the candidate of your choice on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM); You will hear a beep sound
- Check the slip that appears in the transparent window of the VVPAT machine. The slip with the Candidate serial No., Name and Symbol shall be visible for 7 seconds before it drops in the sealed VVPAT box
- You can press NOTA, None of the Above, if you don't like any candidate; it's the last button on the EVM
- Deposit the Pink Slip to 5th Polling Officer and then proceed to the polling booth meant for MLA.

Summer Vacation from 18th April
The Odisha government on Tuesday announced summer vacation for all the schools and other educational institutions from April 18 in view of the heat wave conditions across the state, informed Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi.
The summer holidays, which usually begins in the first week of May, has been advanced to April 18 as the temperature is hovering over 40 degree Celsius in several places in the state.

Those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC shall produce one of the following alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity:

ASO arrested by Odisha Vigilance for bribery in Bhubaneswar
Assistant Section Officer (ASO) was caught in the Vigilance net today, here for allegedly accepting bribes.
The accused has been identified as Dilip Kumat Bisoi posted as ASO in the office of Civil Engineer-in-Chief and was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 8.000. According to sources, Bisoi was apprehended when suborning the amount to grant a contractor’s licence to one Jatiranjan Dehury of Keonjhar.
The Vigilance officials arrested Bisoi and conducted a raid in his Bhubaneswar residence, as well.A case has been registered and the accused forwarded to court.
N.B.It is here to mention that the post of Senior Assistant in Heads of Department was renamed as Assistant Section Officer vide G.A.&PG Deptt. Resolution No.2372 Dt.24.01.2019.

The
final results of Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2018 have been declared today,
the 5th April, 2019. The following are the highlights of the
result:
- The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018 was conducted on 3rdJune, 2018. 10,65,552 candidates applied for this examination, out of which 4,93,972 candidates actually appeared.
- A total of 10,468 candidates qualified for appearance in the Written (Main) Examination which was held in Sep – Oct, 2018.
- A total of 1994 candidates qualified for the Personality Test conducted in Feb - Mar, 2019.
- A total of 759 candidates (577 men and 182 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services.
- Shri KanishakKataria (Roll No. 1133664) has topped the Civil Services Examination, 2018. He belongs to SC Category. He qualified the examination with Mathematics as his optional subject. hHe has graduated with B. Tech (Computer Science& Engineering) degree from IIT, Bombay.
- Ms. SrushtiJayantDeshmukh (Roll No. 0404032) is the topper among the women candidates securing an overall Fifth rank. She has graduated with B.E.(Chemical Engineering) from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwa vidyalaya, Bhopal.
- The top 25 candidates comprise 15men and 10 women.
- Educational qualification-wise the top 25 candidates belong to subjects like Engineering; Sciences; Economics; Law; Mathematics; History; Political Science; Public administration and Commerce graduating from premier Institutions of the country such as IITs, NIT, NLU, BITS Pilani, DU, Mumbai University, Anna University, Pune University, etc.
- Optional subjects of the top 25 candidates in the examination ranged from Anthropology, Chemistry, Commerce & Accountancy, Geography, Law, Maths, History, Political Science & International Relations, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, and English Literature.
- The recommended candidates also include 36 Persons with Benchmark Disability (11 Orthopedically Handicapped; 12 Visually Challenged, 11 Hearing Impaired& 02 Multiple Disability).CLICK HERE for Final Result - 2018

Odisha Assembly Secretary Amiya Sarangi retires
Odisha Assembly secretary Amiya Kumar Sarangi retires from service . Sarangi got four extensions after retirement i.e.April 1, 2013 is allowed to retire from service on March 31. Sishir Kanta Swain, joint secy, would remain incharge as assembly secretary. Assembly Speaker Pradip Amat had recommended the Governor for Sarangi’s service extension for the fifth time .
