R&B Engineers, clerk and contractor got arrested
Seven persons including five engineers, an accounts officer and a contractor was arrested by State Vigilance on Thursday on charges of misappropriation of Government money amounting to Rs 43,16,044.

Divisional Accounts Officer (Retired)
(7) Sri Trupti Ranjan Debata, contractor
As alleged, the above mentioned government money had been misappropriated during construction of bridge over Taladanda Canal near Nayabazar, Cuttack during the year 2014-15 to 2018-19 and the construction work was executed under R&B Division-II, Cuttack.
During tender process, the only bidder Trupti Ranjan Debata submitted his bid papers for award of the work in his favour by furnishing a false “No relation certificate” in violation of terms and conditions of the Tender, though his elder brother Ranjan Kumar Debata was working as Asst. Engineer under R&B Division, Cuttack.The tender was accepted by Bimal Chandra Das, the then Superintending Engineer, R&B Circle, Cuttack for Rs 2,12,53,801 (Rupees Two Crore Twelve lakhs Fifty-Three Thousand Eight Hundred One).
They were arrested today and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Cuttack in custody. They have been remanded to judicial custody till January, 22, 2020.

Relieve Order of two Section Officers of Works Department
In pursuance to the Home (OSS) Department Notification No.50257/OSS Dated 15.11.2019, two Section Officers namely Smt Jyotsnamayee Khuntia and Sri Prasant Kumar Sahoo of Works Department are relieved of their duties w.e.f. 10.01.2020 (F.N) in order to join in the promotional post of Desk Officer in GA&PG Department and W&CD&MS Department respectively. Debate competition on CAA 2019 in GA & PG Department
07.01.2020 - A debate competition among the the ASOs of GA & PG department was organized in the 2nd Floor Conference Hall of Lokseva Bhawan. Result will be declared on 13th January and the winners will be awarded on the day of Annual Function of the cultural association of the department at Rabindra Mandap.

Security Arrangements for Nationwide General Strike on 8th January
Government apprehend that there may be stop vehicular traffic, rail traffic and close down business establishments and picket before Government Offices, Banks and Educational Institutions etc. Therefore it is advised that the Officers and the employees working in Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharvel Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Rajib Bhawan and the Heads of Department etc to reach Office latest by 9.30 A.M. to facilitate their smooth entry.
General Strike called by trade unions on 8th January
Trade unions INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF, UTUC along with various sectoral independent federations and associations had adopted a declaration in September last to go on a nationwide strike on January 8, 2020 to be followed by many more actions seeking reversal of the anti-worker, anti-people, anti-national policies of the Government.

Raj Bhawan Garden opens on 5th January for public
General public can visit the garden from 5th January to 19th January, 2020. between 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m including Sundays and holidays.
School children upto Class-X can visit the garden between 6th January 2020 to 21st January 2020 except on Sunday between 8.30 am and 10 am.

For a hassle free entry into the garden in scheduled timeline Raj Bhavan has developed a Mobile App in name of ‘Rajbhavan Odisha’ which is available in Google Play Store for Android users.

However, the manual entry system through Registers will continue to be available near the Raj Bhavan Reception Centre.
