Government offices to remain opened on Saturdays (except 2nd & 4th)

State Government has restored the timing for functioning of all of its offices from August, 2021 onwards.

As per order of the GA&PG Department, all departments of the State Government and Sub-ordinate Offices in the State will function with full strength of employees with immediate effect until further orders.

However, all the State Government Offices will remain closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays and continue to function on other Saturdays of the month.

Whether Government offices shall remain operational during weekend shutdown ?

Clarification : YES As per the Para-B(vi) in Order No. 4290/ R&DM (DM), Dt.31.07.2021 of SRC, Odisha for the Month of August, 2021, it is mentioned that Weekend Shutdown shall remain in force in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & Puri towns. But all offices/agencies of the State Govt. and Central Govt. in these towns shall function as per the directions of the Government in GA&PG Department, Odisha & Govt. of India respectively during weekend shutdown.

In response to this order, GA&PG Department in its order 20057 Dt.03.08.2021 has mentioned that all the State Government offices shall remain closed on 2nd & 4th Saturdays and shall function on other Saturdays of the month. 

N.B. Government in GA&PG Department in its Order No. 3393/Gen Dt.29.01.2021 had decided all Government offices throughout the State to remain closed on Saturdays w.e.f. 01.02.2021 onwards.
