Labour Bureau has issued its Press Release on 31.07.2021 regarding Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the month of JUNE, 2021. Click here for PRESS RELEASE
The All India CPI-IW for June, 2021 increased by 1.1 points and stood at 121.7 which was 120.6 in May, 2021. Based on CPI-IW of last twelve months, the Dearness Allowance is expected to reach at 31%.
DA Calculation :
Avg AICPI of past 12 months =
{ 336 + 338 + (118.1 + 119.5 + 119.9 + 118.8 + 118.2 + 119.0 + 119.6 + 120.1 + 120.6 + 121.7)*2.88 } /12 = 343.09
Dearness Allowance =
(Avg. AICPI - 261.4) *100 / 261.4 = (343.09 - 261.4)*100 / 261.4 = 31.25%
N.B. Recently Government of India has declared DA @28% w.e.f. 01.07.2021 as the last three instalments were freezed due to Covid pandemic. Further increase of this 3% DA may be expected to be declared in September or October.
