After promotion of 533 Assistant Section Officers in Odisha Secretariat, candidates in competitive examination sector across the state are eagerly waiting for OPSC Advertisement. As per information from sources, there are 800+ posts of ASO are lying vacant.
But last year requisition for 210 posts was sent to OPSC by Home Department. So it was hoped for advertisement by the beginning of this year. Because of 2nd wave Covid Pandemic across country all types of examinations were cancelled by different commissions.
Now it's the time of graded unlocking. Some of the pending examinations have already been conducted by OSSC/OSSSC in last month. Similarly some new advertisements (like CPSE 2021, Revenue Inspector etc.) have also been published last month. Hence we can expect the same from OPSC to publish Advertisement for the most awaiting post of ASO very soon.
This cadre has its own dignity for being exempted from contractual rules, 2013 of State Government. The Examination pattern is also simpler than other examinations as it has only one written examination with 400 marks followed by Computer Skill Test (Qualifying) of 50 marks.
