First dày of your job...
The first day at your new job may be among the most memorable — and perhaps stressful — of your career. Especially, those are most lucky who have received their appointmentent letter from Honble CM.
“Most of us remember our first days at every job because of the heightened pressure to impress, but you can reduce your anxiety by being as meticulous in planning your first day as you were in securing your new position.”
Friday was the day of induction. There was forms to fill out, induction function to attend, videos to watch, people to meet, and generally speaking, no real position-specific responsibilities. But taking a passive versus proactive response would be a mistake. The first day sets the tone for the rest of your career with those who you’ll be interacting with.
Here as a Assistant Section Officer, who have joined Friday, may take today as their actual first day. Although specific sections are not allotted to you, it's a day of interaction with your colleagues and seniors to know each other where you will work .
1. Prepare and ask questions. Although you should spend much of your first day listening, you can and should ask questions when necessary. “Generally, you’re trying to demonstrate your curiosity and desire to learn,” So try to know your Department and it's organisation. Have the contact number of your immediate boss and office landline number.

New ASOs to follow 5T principle
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the newly recruited Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) to follow his 5T principles for good governance at the induction function at Rabindra Mandap on 26th July. He congratulated the 500 new ASOs, who joined in the State Government and advised them to work with commitment and dedication to serve people.
“My Government is committed to provide a transparent, responsible and accountable governance working on the paradigm of 5Ts; that is the dimensions of Teamwork, Technology and Transparency blended with the dimension of Time will bring about the desired Transformation in the lives of the people of our state,” Mr.Patnaik told the ASOs during a programme held here to hand over the appointment letters to the new recruits.
I understand that all of you are quite talented and with your induction, I believe, the regular functioning of the Administrative Departments will get smoother and faster. I hope, you will work commitment and dedication to serve the people,”
Dc-cum-ACS, Sri Asit Tripathy advised the newly-recruited ASOs to exhibit their ability, sincerity, honesty and dutifulness during their service tenure for the successful implementation of government programs.
The orientation program meant for the ASOs was taken by Home Department’s Additional Secretary Partha Sarathi Mishra, retired Special Secretary Prabhat Ranjan Giri and Secretariat Training Institute’s head Debi Prasad Sarangi.
