As per the call of the Steering Committee constituted to pursue the Restructuring / Upgradation proposal of OSSA, it's members were gathered at PR Lawn during Lunch hour (1.30PM) today to discuss why upgradation proposal is getting delayed and to decide on the future course of action. 
It's to note that there are only 100 posts in Deputy Secretary to Additional Secretary rank in OSS cadre against whole cadre strength of 2969. Although some OSS officers get promotion to the rank of Under Secretary, they retire from service within few months. So a major part of these officers have to continue maximum time of their service period in Section Officer Or Desk Officer rank.
In view of the above, a proposal has been submitted to Government for upgradation posts in rank of Under Secretary & above.
