Spread over a vast expanse of 15 acres, Amrit Udyan has often been portrayed, and deservedly so, as the soul of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Amrit Udyan will open for public during this season for the first time, to showcase the blossom of summer annuals. Public visitation will begin on August 16th until September 17th 2023.
Spread over a vast expanse of 15 acres, Amrit Udyan has often been portrayed, and deservedly so, as the soul of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Originally, it included East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden. During the term of former Presidents Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Shri Ram Nath Kovind, more gardens were developed, namely, Herbal-I, Herbal-II, Tactile Garden, Bonsai Garden and Arogya Vanam. In this edition, visitors will also have access to the vibrant Bal Vatika and a Spiritual Garden.
Besides the Gardens, visitors can also see various exhibits of the flora and fauna present in and around Rashtrapati Bhavan. Visitors can also choose from the wide varieties of refreshments available at the Food Court on payment basis.
Visitors can visit the gardens from 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs (last entry 1600 hrs). Entry will be from Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, near North Avenue. On September 5, it will be exclusively open for Teachers to mark the Teachers’ Day. The Gardens will remain closed on all Mondays for maintenance.
