Vacation of Campus Medicine Stores from public health institutions : High Court upheld the decision
Certain Campus Medicine Stores had approached the Hon'ble High Court of Orissa assailing the communication of Health & FW Department dated 27.02.2015, wherein it was directed that no extension of licence of on-campus medical stores was to be permitted and further, no new campus medical stores were to be opened.
Despite expiry of their licence agreements, these Campus Medicine Stores had been running their businesses pursuant to interim orders passed by the Hon'ble High Court.
The Hon'ble High Court after adjudicating over the matters, has vide final order and judgment dated 19.04.2024 dismissed all the aforementioned Writ Petitions. In light of the aforesaid development, Health Department has instructed Superintendent / Dean & Principal, MKCG MCH, Berhampur/ Director, VIMSAR, Burla and CDM & PHOs of all Districts to immediately issue 'vacation notices' to the Campus Medicine Shops affording therein a time period of 15 days for vacating the premises and also to take all possible steps in accordance with law to recover possession of the premises immediately after expiry of the 15 days period.

REMINDER : Exercising option for family pension under NPS
GOVERNMENT OF ODISHA

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Sub : Submission of option for availing the benefits of family pension upon in-service death in respect of State Government employees covered under National Pension System (NPS).
State Government has extended the benefits of family pension to all the eligible State Government employees cOvered under NPS, upon their in-service death vide Finance Department Notification No. 28746/F, dated 11.10.2021.The detailed procedure to exercise the option for availing the benefits of family pension upon in service death in respect of State Government employees covered under NPS has been laid down vide Finance Department Office Memorandum No.12587/F, dated 19.05.2022.
2. As per the aforementioned Office Memorandum, the following timeline has been prescribed for submission of option form by the eligible Government employee:
- Existing State Government employees covered under NPS shall exercise such option within one year from the date of issue of FD OM No. 12587,dated 10.05.2022 i.e., by 10.05.2023.
- In case where an employee who has not exercised the option and dies in service within 3 years from the date of issue of FD Notification No.28746/F, dated 11.10.2021 i.e., before 11.10.2024.
3. It has come to the notice of the Government that, some empioyees in service could not submit their option within the stipulated timeline i.e., by 10.05.2023.
4. After careful consideration, State Government has been pleased to extend the timeline for one more year i.e., up to 10.05.2024 for the serving government employees to exercise their option for availing the benefits of family pension under NPS.

UPSC Civil Services Result 2023 : Recommendation of 1016 candidates
The Union Public Service Commission has declared the UPSC Final Result for the Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE) 2023 on April 16, 2024. Based on the result of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2023 held by the Union Public Service Commission in September, 2023 and the interviews for Personality Test held in January-April 2024, list of 1016 candidates has been released in order of merit, of candidates who have been recommended for appointment.
FINAL RESULT : UPSC CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION 2023
A total of 1,016 candidates have been recommended for appointment. The status of 355 recommended candidates remains provisional. According to the list, Aditya Srivastava, Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy are the top three perfomers in the UPSC Civil Services exam 2023.

Rescheduled class timings for Summer 2024.
In response to the ongoing weather conditions, the School and Mass Education Department has rescheduled class timings for Summer 2024. Classes from I to XII will run from 7 AM to 11:30 AM with effect from April 2nd. Similarly, W&CD Department have rescheduled timings for Anganwadi Center.
