It was a great moment for the 2011 Batch ASOs who received their appointment letter from Hon'ble Chief Minister in a special Orientation Program held at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar on this day 6 years back.
It's noted that, OPSC started recruitment process for filling up of 811 posts of ASO in Odisha Secretariat against the vacancies of the year 2011. But it took 5 years to complete the process because of different court cases pending in High Court. After clearance from Hon'ble Court, written exam was conducted on 29-30 November, 2015 and Computer Skill Test on 21 August, 2016. The final recommendation was published by OPSC on 10.09.2016.
Home Department, being the cadre controlling Department, organised an Orientation Program for these newly recruited ASOs on 06.10.2022 at Rabindra Mandap and presented the appointment letters.
Within these 6 years, many of them have left this job to join OAS/OPS/ORS etc. for which the figure 811 has been reduced to 666 till now. It's a very good news that within 4 years of service, 555 ASOs have been promoted to the rank of Section Officer.
Let's hope for the better future of this Cadre.
