An owl in Secretariat...

An owl was found sitting on the window of Works Department in Lokseva Bhawan on Monday. The whole day, it was found sitting there. 

It was really amazing to see that bird with heart shaped face and pale yellow body colour.

Odisha Assembly to commence from Feb 18; Budget on Feb 22

The sixth Session (budget session) of 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin from February 18 and the session will continue till April 9, 2021.

This session will have a total 31 business days. 

The State Budget for the fiscal 2021-22 will be presented in the House on February 22.

Happy retirement wishes ...

As a part of Government Service, Sri Krishna Prasad Mohapatra, President of Odisha Secretariat Service Association (OSSA) is going to retire on superannuation w.e.f. 31.01.2021 and today is his last woking day in Secretariat. Presently, he is working as Under Secretary to Govt., Fishery & ARD Department. 

He was elected as General Secretary, OSSA from 2015-2017 and President from 2017-2019. He will be remembered for his contribution towards the cadre. 

All members of OSSA are requested to get associated in PR Lawn today at Lunch time (1.30 PM) to give him a grand farewell.

We wish him a happy retirement life....

Padma Awards 2021

Padma Awards - one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, viz.- art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.

2. These awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March/ April every year. This year the President has approved conferment of 119 Padma Awards including 1 duo case (in a duo case, the Award is counted as one) as per list below. The list comprises 7 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards. 29 of the awardees are women and the list also includes 10 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI, 16 Posthumous awardees and 1 transgender awardee.
