The post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) is popular for Odisha Secretariat Establishment. But other offices beyond Odisha Secretariat have also posts with same designation. But the method of recruitment and pay structure somehow differs.
Here we can go through a little idea about these posts of ASO in different offices.
Base level posts in Central Secretariat Service (CSS), Governors Secretariat, Odisha Secretariat, Odisha Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Odisha High Court are designated as Assistant Section Officer (ASO). Whereas, Junior Assistant (GP₹1900) of HOD gets promotion to the rank of ASO.
The above mentioned ASOs on promotion become Section Officer. Whereas Senior Assistants (GP₹2400) of District Offices on promotion become Section Officer (Previously named as Head Clerk).
And, Section Officers on promotion get different ranks based on recruitment rules of their respective cadres.
