Eligibility for OPSC ASO application: Regarding Age relaxation

Some of the readers are in doubt regarding age relaxation of General Candidates. As we know, there are so many Court cases in every recruitments and major part of them are about age relaxation.

As per my knowledge, the eligibility regarding age matter is described in recruitment rules of every cadre. Generally, it's a rule for recruitment at least once in every year based on vacancies. So the eligibility of maximum limit i.e. 32 years is calculated as on 1st January of the year of recruitment. But it is seen that, only the Odisha Civil Service examination is being conducted in regular manner. In case, any recruitment has not been conducted for 'n' years, then in next recruitment age relaxation is being given for the same 'n' years.

OPSC ASO Examination :

Odisha Secretariat Service (Method of recruitment & conditions of service) Rules, 2016 has provision of regular recruitment every year. But only one recruitment (RR-2018) has been conducted for 500 posts yet. Hence to avoid further litigation in next recruitment, Govt have brought ammendment in the rule. As per the amendment,  Recruitment for ASO will be there as per requirement by Government but not every year mandatorily. Hence it is expected that overaged candidates will not be allowed in next examinations.

# Government may change rules from time to time

Again I request not to waste your time for asking number of posts. Whether it is 500 or 796 both are good numbers. OPSC notification will be the only truth, rest are unofficial. This blog also!!!
