Fire breaks out in Lokseva Bhavan : No one hurt

A minor fire broke out in one room of the  Revenue & DM Department located on the first floor of the Lok Seva Bhawan (Odisha Secretariat) here, today at nearly about 10:00am.

However, there was no injury or major damage as the fire brigade team reached the spot immediately and doused the fire. 

Due to the fire, dense smoke prevailed in the building for some time. One computer, an AC and two chairs of the department have been damaged in the fire incident. Apart from the room where the fire broke out, no other office was affected in the fire incident.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Dr Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, senior most judge of rhe Orissa High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court w.e.f. 04.10.2023 consequent upon superannuation of Sri Justice Subhasis Talapatra, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.

Amendment in Recruitment Rules for Odisha Engineering Service (OES)

Amendment in Combined Recruitment Rules for Stenographer, Junior Clerk, Data Entry Operator and Junior Typist

As per Cabinet Decision Dated 15.09.2023, Government have been pleased to include four nos. of posts in schedule-I of Combined Recruitment Examination for Junior Stenographer, Junior Typist, Data Entry Operator, Junior Clerk cum Typist Rules, 2022. 

1) Junior Clerk cum Typist : Directorate of Drugs Controller and all other Departments or HODs

2) Typist cum Copyist : Labour & ESI Department

3) Junior Grade Typist : Board of Revenue

4) Junior Typist : Labour & ESI Department & other department

Earlier, nine(9) nos. of different posts have been included in the aforesaid rule. Now, after inclusion of four(4) posts, OSSC shall conduct Combined Recruitment Examination for Junior Stenographer, Junior Typist, Data Entry Operator, Junior Clerk of thirteen(13) different posts.

Odisha Apartment (Ownership & Management) Bill, 2023 Introduced In Assembly

Apartment buyers will now have exclusive ownership & possession of an apartment with the right to undivided interest in common areas & facilities. 

Promoter will execute Deed of transfer of apartment in the name of allottee & transferee along with undivided title in the common areas to the association of allottees under the provisions of the Registration Act. 

Penalty on promoter up to Rs 5 lakhs for unfair practices. 

This Bill will replace the ordinance.

Tourism Department Blood Donation Camp : 44 Units Collected

Cultural Association of Tourism Department successfully organised Blood Donation Camp - 2023 at Paryatan Bhawan today. A total of 44 units of blood was donated voluntarily by the employees. This was one of the events conducted on the eve of Annual Function of this Association. Sri Aswin Kumar Patra, Hon'ble Minister, Tourism Department, Govt of Odisha was invited as the Chief Guest and Sri Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, OTDC as Guest of Honour during this occasion. 

On 27th, this Association is going to organise a Bike Rally to Cuttack in the morning. Besides, the special attraction, Cultural Program with Odia Drama will be played at Bhanjakala Mandap, Bhubaneswar in that evening.
